Cahoon Museum to Host Fiber Art Exhibit

COTUIT – A new fiber art exhibit comes to the Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit next month.

“Twisted, Twined and Woven,” is an exhibition of contemporary fiber art that illustrates the experimental diversity of both method and themes in the work of regional fiber artists.

The show includes hand-sewn reliefs, three-dimensional felted work, knot work and basketry.

Pieces on display include framed works as well as hanging installations and large scale, free-standing sculpture.

The exhibition opens with a free reception on Friday, November 2 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

It will be on display through December 22.

Two workshops associated with the exhibit will be held Saturday, November 10 and Wednesday, December 12. Registration is required.
