Call for Art and Craft Vendors for 2017 Wellfleet OysterFest

WELLFLEET – The 2017 OysterFest is coming up in a few months and Fine Art and Craft applications are being accepted.

The 17th annual Wellfleet OysterFest will be held on October 14 and 15 and applications are being accepted in the categories of ceramics, fiber arts wearable and non-wearable, glass, jewelry, metalsmithing, mixed media, painting, printmaking, photography, specialty foods and wood.

Through a competitive blind jury process, around 80 artists will be chosen to exhibit in the fall show.

Jurors are members of the arts community on Cape Cod and beyond and are not affiliated with Wellfleet SPAT.

Applications are due by midnight April 14 and the application fee is $20, but late applications will not be accepted.

The only way to apply to OysterFest is through the electronic applications process.

Proceeds from the ‘Fest support the organization’s educational mission which include a local college scholarship program, community grant awards and initiatives to support shellfishing.

The two-day family festival celebrates the town’s famous oysters, clams and shellfishing traditions bringing together locals and visitors alike for a weekend full of hometown flavor and big time fun.

The event features food from local restaurants and shellfishermen, a fine art and crafts fair, music, a Family Fun area, educational programs, cooking demonstrations and the famous Oyster Shucking Competition.
