Callanan’s Pass Maintenance Planned Next Week

ORLEANS – Orleans town officials will be conducting the annual maintenance on Callanan’s Pass next week, meaning oversand vehicle access to Nauset Spit will be limited.

Crews will be working on Tuesday and, if necessary, on Wednesday. The town’s Department of Natural Resources reports they hope to have the project completed in one day.

The oversand trails south of the public parking lot at Nauset Beach were closed last week because of nesting piping plovers.

It is not yet known when those trails will reopen.
