Candidate Forum Planned Ahead of Harwich Town Election

HARWICH – A candidate forum is scheduled in Harwich next month ahead of the annual town election.

The Harwich Democratic Town Committee is putting on the event Saturday, May 5 at the Harwich Community Center. The forum will begin at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public.

There are three candidates running for one seat on the Board of Selectmen: former Selectman Ed McManus and newcomers Steven Scannell and Thomas Sherry.

Incumbent selectman Janell Brown is not seeking re-election.

There are uncontested races for Water Commissioner, one seat on the Monomoy Regional School Committee, three seats on the Brooks Free Library Board of Trustees.
