BARNSTABLE – Cape Cod and the Islands will be getting a $1.7 million boost to help prevent and end homelessness through grants awarded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The “Continuum of Care” grants help local programs to help homeless individuals and families.
“Continuums of Care across the nation are acting with urgency and resolve, with a focus on using federal resources as effectively and efficiently as possible,” said Matthew Doherty, executive director of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, in a statement. “The investments being made through these grants are absolutely critical to sustaining and building upon the progress communities are making toward ending homelessness.”
277 programs in Massachusetts received over $69 million of the record $1.95 billion awarded across the United States.
