Cape Coast Guard Crew Rescues Swimmer off Ipswich

IPSWICH – A Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Cape Cod rescued a missing swimmer off the coast of Ipswich last night.

The team was called in after two people were carried away in rip current near Crane Beach around 5:30 p.m.

One of the victims was rescue by local police. After an hour of searching in heavy fog, the helicopter team found the swimmer and hoisted him to safety.

The victim is in stable condition and was re-united with family members after the ordeal.
