YARMOUTH – The Cape Cod and Islands Art Educators Association is hosting their Art Educator and Art Student work exhibit at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod in early March.
The purchase and sale of the work at the exhibit will benefit scholarships in the visual arts.
Current CCIAEA members are invited to submit one work of their own art, in any medium, and are also asked to invite one or two student work, depending on size, and also submit one work of art each to be exhibited “side by side” with their teacher’s work.
The exhibit will highlight the important role of the special relationship and inspiration between talented art educators and their talented students.
Twenty percent of purchases support the CCIAEA Scholarship Fund, another twenty percent goes to the Cultural Center of Cape Cod and sixty percent to the artist.
Both 2-D and 3-D work can be submitted for the exhibit.
On March 2, the exhibit, which will be located at the Cultural Center’s Great Hall, will be open to the public.
On March 4, a reception and awards ceremony will be held for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. and the exhibition will end on March 14.
The CCIAEAwas founded in 2003 as a collaborative effort between prospective, current and retired art educators and their supporters.
Led by a volunteer advisory committee representing the diversity of the Cape community, the association represents a cross-section of the visual art education community on the Cape and Islands.
