BARNSTABLE – The Cape’s best high school artists will have their work showcased this week.
The Cape Cod Art Association is presenting “BEGINNINGS,” a Cape wide high school student exhibit from Tuesday, March 15 through Sunday, March 20.
The purpose of the exhibit is to celebrate the importance of visual arts for youth.
It also provides a professional gallery setting for students to display their work outside of their schools to gain exposure in the local community.
Each Cape high school’s art department selected 10 students to participate in the exhibit.
The exhibit will hold an opening reception on Friday, March 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Awards will be handed out at 7 p.m.
The Cape Cod Art association is located on Route 6A in Barnstable and is open seven days a week. The hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
The association is a non-profit organization that hosts more than 100 art classes and workshops each year, along with producing numerous art exhibits at its own gallery and other locations across the Cape.
