Cape Cod Beer Introduces Charitable Stout to Assist Vets and Families

HYANNIS – Cape Cod Beer is introducing a new beer that will raise money for local military families and veterans.

A release party Nox Atra, which is Latin for ’Dark as Night,’  is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday January 26th at the company’s Hyannis location.

It will be part of the Black Ale Project, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Nicholas Xiarhos Foundation Fund which helps to support wounded soldiers and their families, local military families and more than a dozen ongoing community programs. 

Nick, a D-Y High School graduate, was killed in action while going to rescue fellow Marines in 2009.  

Described as “velvety and intense”, the beer will be available for tastings as well as in pints and 750ml. bottles. 

 Aadmission is $20, which will be donated to the fund.  There will be live music, food, a cash bar and T-shirts for sale.
