HYANNIS – The Cape Cod Bird Club (CCBC) has announced that they are offering two scholarships for Cape Cod school students between the ages of 14 and 17.
The teens would be able to attend the Coastal Maine Bird Studies for Teens Camp, which takes place from June 18-23 at National Audubon’s Hog Island in Bremen, Maine.
The CCBC 2017 scholarships will cover the full tuition for the camp, which is nearly $1,300, and includes meals, housing, instruction and all boat trips.
The scholarship recipient is responsible for all other costs, including transportation to and from the camp, as well as any other incidental costs.
Scholarship applications must be residents of Cape Cod.
All application materials must be received by the CCBC by January 5 and award decisions will be made in February.
Top applicants might be interviewed by one or more Scholarship Committee members during the selection process.
The scholarship recipient will be expected to write a brief report (approx. 250 words) for the Fall 2017 edition of the CCBC newsletter with the article due in mid to late August.
The recipient also will be expected to attend the December 2017 meeting of the CCBC at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and be available to answer member questions about the camp experience.
