Cape Cod Bird Club Plans Talk on Great Shearwater Migration

BREWSTER – On Monday, February 12th at 7 PM, The Cape Cod Bird Club will hold its monthly meeting at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Route 6A in Brewster.

There will be a presentation about high-tech research on great shearwater migration and foraging.

Here on Cape Cod, bird watchers have the opportunity to see four species of shearwater, often right from the shore.  This is one of the only places on Earth where this is possible.

Attendees will discover where they come from, what they do while they visit and where they head when they depart.

The speaker will be Dr. David Wiley who is the Research Coordinator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency’s Stellwagen Bank National marine Sanctuary, and leader of the Office of the National Marine Sanctuary’s Center of Excellence for Acoustic Research and Marine Mammal Conservation.

The meeting is free and open to all.
