BARNSTABLE – As the holidays continue, the Cape Cod Bird Club will celebrate all things ornithological on the Cape by holding bird counting events and an annual fundraiser.

The first weekend in December will feature a waterfowl count, followed by Christmas Day and New Year’s Day observation and counting events which will not only provide for excellent views, but also the opportunity to contribute to nation-wide scientific research.

On Monday, December 12th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster, the club will raise money for student scholarships to birding camp and the Birder’s Exchange, a fund which supports ornithologists struggling in Central America.

The event will feature door prizes, an auction of bird-themed merchandise and a bake table.
