Cape Cod Bucket Brigade to Gather Winter Gear for Vets

YARMOUTH – Police and fire departments from across the Cape and Islands will travel to Fall River Friday to pick up hundreds of new winter coats, hats and gloves for Cape Cod veterans in need.

The collaboration included Ocean State Job Lot, the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation, Cape Cod Military Support Foundation and several other organizations.

The items will be gathered up and stored in an orange plastic Home Depot bucket and brought back to Cape Cod by the Bucket Brigade.

First responders will meet at Yarmouth Police Department at 10 a.m. and travel as a group to Fall River to pick up the buckets and return them to Cape Cod communities to be distributed throughout the winter.
