Cape Cod Canal Day Set For Saturday

BUZZARDS BAY – The 2nd annual Cape Cod Canal Day takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Buzzards Bay Park.

Hosted by the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, the free event will have food trucks, live music, shopping, an arts and crafts fair, a 5K road race, a cornhole tournament, a photo contest, as well as other games and activities for people of all ages.

President and CEO of the Chamber Marie Oliva said it’s a great time of year for the event.

“We really like to have it on the shoulder season. Actually the second busiest month is September, as opposed to August, in terms of traffic and people coming down and tourism,” Oliva explained.

“You couldn’t get a better location than Buzzards Bay Park, which was recently renovated and there’s a beautiful pavilion, greenery, beautiful trees,” Oliva said.

“The town did a good job at renovating the park.”

Live musical acts include the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Knotical Mile Band and 7th Co. Marching Band, The Reminisants, and Ashley Jordan Band.
