Cape Cod Cares for the Troops Launching Barnstable Village Strolls for the Troops

BARNSTABLE – A local non-profit organization is looking to share the holiday cheer and collect donations for deployed U.S. troops.

Cape Cod Cares for the Troops is launching its first ever Barnstable Village Strolls for the Troops collection at the Barnstable Holiday Stroll Wednesday.

The group will be collecting items for holiday care packages for troops in Afghanistan. Donations will be collected in front of the Post Office.

Cape Cod Cares for the Troops will be accepting microwave popcorn, full-sized candy bars, hot chocolate packets, 10-12 oz. bags of coffee, powdered drink mixes, deodorant, pocket-sized tissue packages, plain white athletic socks, and more. A $20 cash or check donation to help shipping the care packages will also be accepted.

Barnstable Strolls for the Troops is sponsored by the Barnstable Village Association and St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
