Cape Cod Chamber Creates New Resource for Mountain Bikers

Bike - 1CENTERVILLE – Mountain bikers have a new resource to help plan their excursions on Cape Cod.

With help from the New England Mountain Biking Association, the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce has created trail maps for several off-road bike trails across the region.

So far the chamber has created maps for Nickerson State Park in Brewster, Old Jail Lane in Barnstable, the Trail of Tears in West Barnstable, along with the Badlands, Greenough and Higgins Crowell trails in Yarmouth.

“Most people don’t realize that Cape Cod offers many hundreds of miles of excellent off pavement mountain bike trails,” said Wendy Northcross, the CEO of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, in a release. “Hardly a town on the Cape doesn’t have a local bike trail system worth exploring.”

The maps were funded through a grant from the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority.

The printable maps can be found at capecodunpaved.com.
