Cape Cod Child Development Names Interim Agency Director

Nancy Sorbo has been named interim agency director for Cape Cod Child Development

HYANNIS – Cape Cod’s largest child care, early education, early intervention and family support organization has named a new interim agency director.

Cape Cod Child Development has chosen Nancy Sorbo to replace Anne Colwell, who served as the non-profit’s CEO since 2015. Colwell left the organization to pursue other professional opportunities.

“She has worked hard to foster integral relationships with other non-profits and was instrumental in creating greater visibility for our programs and services,” said Sheryl Walsh, the CCCD board president. “We are thankful for her leadership and contributions.”

Sorbo has served as a member of the senior leadership team since 2016. In her role, she has been in charge of directing the agency’s Family Childcare and Pre-School Enrollment programs. Under Sorbo, the Family Childcare program has expanded to include 44 providers serving 180 children throughout the mid-Cape area.

“Nancy has a real passion for helping and supporting families with 25 years of experience in various leadership roles in the healthcare and human services sector,” Walsh said.

Sorbo lives in Centerville with her husband and son and said she looks forward to leading the agency during this period of transition.

“Providing a strong foundation for children entering school and offering the kind of family support services we do can benefit the entire community far beyond classroom walls,” Sorbo said.
