Cape Cod Children’s Chorus Presents “My Favorite Songs”

music notesWEST BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Children’s Chorus, directed by John Yankee, will present a concert of “My Favorite Songs” on March 12 at 3 p.m. at First Congregational Church in Falmouth Village.

The Children’s Chorus is a vibrant group of the Cape Conservatory where students experience the power and joy of choral music while pursuing the highest levels of excellence in vocal training and musicianship.

In their nearly-spring concert, the choir performs a variety of musical styles and historic periods, including folk, world, popular and classic songs.

Admission is $10 for adults and children 12 and under are free.

The Cape Conservatory invites all enthusiastic singers to join the Cape Cod Children’s Chorus for the 2016-17 season.

The Children’s Chorus is a sequential program, offering two choirs for beginning through advanced students.

The Junior Chorus is a preparatory group that introduces children to the world of choral singing.

The Concert Choir is the flagship group of the Cape Cod Children’s Chorus, presenting more advanced concepts of vocal production, ensemble singing, musicianship and theory.

In both choirs, participating students gain the knowledge and confidence needed to rehearse and perform with joy in public.

Placement auditions for new students will be held March 14 and 15 at the Conservatory’s Barnstable and Falmouth campuses.

Prospective students should contact the Conservatory to schedule the placement audition.
