Cape Cod Children’s Place Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Expansion

childrens-placeHYANNIS – A groundbreaking was held on Wednesday for an expansion project at Cape Cod Children’s Place.

Since opening in 1995, the non-profit organization is used by 800 local families for a number of services, including parenting support and child care.

“The expansion itself will bring some more space to our building,” said Advocacy and Outreach Director Elizabeth Aldred. “It’s not a huge expansion but it’s certainly a big deal for us.”kids-logo

The expansion will create space for other organizations that do not have a presence on the lower and outer Cape and deal with issues such as substance abuse and immigration.

“It’ll allow us to have to have room for more community services, we’ll have a community resource office, we’ll have a therapeutic place space,” said Aldred.

Cape Cod Children’s Place provides family support and early education for families on the lower and outer Cape.
