Cape Cod Community College Offers Dominican Republic Trip

WEST BARNSTABLE – Cape Cod Community College is inviting members of the community to study abroad for a week next year in the Dominican Republic.

The college is partnering with Education First College Study Tours for the eight day trip from May 25 to June 1 in 2020.

During the trip, guests will learn about the wonders of marine life and preservation efforts.

Topics that will be addressed include the effects of overfishing, tourism, and climate change on coral reef in the Caribbean. After gaining an educational foundation, guests will work together with community members to collect fragments of naturally broken coral and transplant them back into the reef as a way to preserve the ecosystem.

The trip costs $3,645 per person and includes all travel, hotels, meals, entrance tickets, tour guides and insurance.

As an incentive, anybody who enrolls before March 31, 2019 is eligible for a $250 scholarship.

For information on how to register for the trip, contact Cape Cod Community College Professor Amy Clark at [email protected].
