Cape Cod Community College Receives State Approval for Funeral Service Program

HYANNIS- The Massachusetts Department of Higher Education has given approval to Cape Cod Community College to teach-out the Associate of Science in Funeral Services, formerly offered through Mount Ida College.

This new program would provide the continuation of funeral service academic programming for former Mount Ida students who are in the process of completing their degrees.

The College has partnered with Bridgewater State University, where the program will be located.

Before classes begin, the American Board of Funeral Service Education must review and approve the College’s teach-out plan this August.

Pending final approval, 4 C’s looks to start the first classes this October.

4 C’s continues to move forward with the approval for on-going accreditation of the Funeral Service program for new students.

Mount Ida’s assets and operations were recently bought out by the University of Massachusetts Amherst in a controversial deal earlier this year.
