Cape Cod CPR to Host ‘Stop the Bleed’ Training

SOUTH YARMOUTH – A free “Stop the Bleed” training course will be held next month by Cape Cod CPR & First Aid Training at its South Yarmouth facility.

The free, 90-minute class teaches the public how to be trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency, such as a mass-casualty event or shark attack, before professional help arrives.

The program is March 30 at 1 p.m. To register, visit capecpr.com or call 508-364-4750.

To register online, click on the “View Schedule” button, scroll down to March 30 and select the “Stop the Bleed” event.

Space is limited so early registration is recommended.

Victims of severe bleeding events, if left unattended, can result in death. The key to saving lives is providing those first on the scene with the skills and basic tools to stop uncontrolled bleeding.

The “Stop the Bleed” campaign launched in October 2015 by the White House. March 31 is National Stop the Bleed Day.

Coastal Medical Transportation Services is a sponsor of the event.
