DENNIS PORT – It was record breaking year for scholarships awarded through the Cape Cod Foundation.
The foundation recently presented more than $500,000 in scholarships to 140 local students who are beginning or continuing their higher education.
“This year we reached an important milestone by exceeding the half million-dollar mark in awards,” said Kristin O’Malley, president and CEO of the Cape Cod Foundation. “Clearly, our community values education and wants to provide students with resources and opportunities that will enrich their lives now and in the future.”
More than 80 scholarship funds are run through the foundation.
Its partner, the Cape Cod Association, also awarded $440,000 to 297 students in June.
