Cape Cod Foundation: Falmouth Fund to Award $100,000 This Year

FALMOUTH – The Cape Cod Foundation says its Falmouth Fund will see a significant increase in the amount of money they will be able to distribute this year.

The organization expects to award up to $100,000 to local programs and non-profits. Last year, the fund awarded just under $80,000 to 26 local groups.

Interested organizations can seek funding through two categories: general grants and strategic focus grants. General grants cover initiatives such as one-time projects or launching emerging opportunities, which strategic focus grants address long-range efforts.

Information on the application process is available at capecodfoundation.org.

Falmouth is one of three towns to have specific funds for grants through the Cape Cod Commission. The Chatham specific fund is in its fifth year while the Sandwich fund is in its first year.

“Town Funds are a unique way for residents to power up the nonprofits serving their communities,” said Kristen O’Malley, the President and CEO of the Cape Cod Foundation. “By pooling and investing donations into a Town Fund, you not only generate a large amount of revenue for grant-making evert year, you also help create a permanent, growing endowment to support the community for the long-term.”
