Cape Cod Healthcare Appoints New VP of Strategy and Government Affairs

HYANNIS – Cape Cod Healthcare has appointed a new Vice President of Strategy and Government Affairs.

The Cape-based healthcare provider appointed Paul Niedzwiecki last week.

Niedzwiecki comes to CCHC from the Southfield Redevelopment Authority, where he was Executive Director and General Counsel. Prior to his time there, he was Executive Director of the Cape Cod Commission, where he led a staff of 40 people who created and implemented regional policy.

He will assume his position at CCHC on May 6.

Among his accomplishments at the Commission was the implementation of the 21st Century Task Force recommendations, which set the path for development of the region. He directed major regulatory reforms with the revision of the Cape Cod Regional Policy Plan, launched the Commission’s Strategic Information Office and completed a Water Quality Management Plan to address nutrient pollution and restoration of water quality on the Cape.

Prior to his time at the Cape Cod Commission, he served as assistant town manager for the Town of Barnstable and, prior to that, was Chief Financial Officer and Special Assistant District Attorney for the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office.

Niedzwiecki will be responsible for leading the government relations and community benefits programs, and will serve as the primary liaison for regulatory affairs.

“I’m confident that, with his experience and expertise, Paul will be a great asset to Cape Cod Healthcare,” said Cape Cod Healthcare President and CEO Michael Lauf.

“We are looking forward to welcoming him to the organization.”
