HYANNIS – Blood donations on Cape Cod are lagging behind this month and officials with Cape Cod Healthcare are asking residents to consider giving blood, if they can.

In the spirit of the holiday season, officials are hoping Cape Codders will choose to “give the gift of life,” in the words of Jonathan Decoste, the chief blood donor recruiter for Cape Cod Healthcare.

All blood collected stays on Cape Cod.
