HYANNIS – Those with old cars, trucks, boats, RVs and other vehicles may consider donating them to Cape Cod Healthcare this year.
The latest fundraiser from the branch which secures funding for the medical group, Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, allows donors a tax deduction on the fair market value of their donations.
The foundation has teamed up with a partner in the vehicle recycling trade to pick up the donations directly from donor properties and then sell them for recycling and scrap.
Chief Development Officer for the foundation Kevin Ralph said the idea came from his previous experience working for the Red Cross.
“It’ll benefit patient care, capital projects, equipment purchases, the real priorities we’re looking at on a daily basis,” Ralph said.
