Cape Cod Marathon Weekend Begins in Falmouth

FALMOUTH–Cape Cod Marathon Weekend begins today in Falmouth.

Over 3,500 runners are expected to run through a new course, which is flatter and encompasses more of the Nantucket Sound coastline. Around 10,000 spectators are anticipated to show up and cheer for the runners along the route.

The half-marathon begins this morning at 7:30 a.m. at Falmouth Town Square. The marathon and marathon relay is tomorrow morning, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Main Street. The event is an official qualifying event for the Boston Marathon.

An expo will also be held today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gus Canty Community Center. Adrianne Haslet, a para-athlete and survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, will be in attendance.
