FALMOUTH – The two-day Cape Cod Marathon Weekend finished Sunday with a 26.2-mile run around Falmouth and in parts of Woods Hole.
The event featured a half-marathon Saturday around a mostly flat route. Yesterday’s full marathon hugged the town’s coastline and, according to the event’s website, was designed to maximize participant’s views of the shore and Martha’s Vineyard.
Saturday’s winners were Roni Teich of St. Paul, Minnesota and Alexandra Purdue-Smithe of Amherst, Massachusetts.
Yesterday’s emerged with times just 17 minutes apart. John Chesto finished at 2 hours, 43 minutes and 58 seconds; Kristina Folcik clocked-in at 3 hours, 16 seconds.
