Cape Cod Maritime Museum to Host Lecture by America’s Cup Sailor Gary Jobson

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Maritime Museum is inviting area residents to a lecture led by award winning America’s Cup sailor, filmmaker and author Gary Jobson this month.

Gary Jobson is an award-winning sailor, having won many of the world’s offshore races, and he was a tactician on the winning America’s Cup yacht, Courageous in 1977 with skipper Ted Turner.

He started his career as a sailing coach at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and later at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Since that time, Jobson has authored 19 books on sailing, narrated and produced over 1,000 TV programs and films, given over 2,000 lectures and has competed in close to 6,000 races.

The lecture has been organized as a fundraiser for the Cape Cod Maritime Museum.

The America’s Cup Sailor lecture by Gary Jobson takes place on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:30 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. at Tales of Cape Cod, located at 3046 Barsntable Village.

Admission to the lecture is $50.
