Cape Cod Museum of Art Summer Exhibitions: The Circle of Cape Cod Artists

HYANNIS –  The Cape Cod Museum of Art has announced their summertime exhibitions series for 2018 featuring 3 major shows spanning June through September.

On June 7th through August 5th ‘Modernists Out of the Mainstream’ will feature a historical view of important Cape Cod artists with works from the Museum’s permanent collection. These 20th Century artists were experimenting with the elements of art and contributing to the dynamic art movements that set America at the center of the art world.

From June 1st to September 9th ‘Connections: Visual Fellows of the Cape’ will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Fine Arts Work Center. CCMoA puts the spotlight on artists who originally came to the Cape on fellowships to Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and decided to stay on the Cape and mature in their work.

Finally, ‘Beyond the Tattoo – Mark Corliss’ will run June 21st to August 5th, this exhibition presents the work of Hyannis tattoo artist Mark Corliss that reflects his love of the traditional Japanese design.

Founded by artists in 1981, CCMoA preserves the work of the Cape’s finest artists and celebrates the distinctive artistic identity of the Cape, the Islands and the region.
