Cape Cod Museum of Natural History Hosts Drawing and Painting from Nature Events

PearBREWSTER – The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is hosting an event titled “Drawing and Painting from Nature with Eve Aspinwall” throughout this month and next month.

Drawing and painting from nature are relaxing and uplifting activities which connect observation, contemplation, inspiration and personal growth.

The course is for adults interested in experiencing nature as an avenue for art and self-expression while developing drawing and painting skills.

Basic tools, materials and techniques will be demonstrated and students will be free to experiment with color media of their choice, including watercolor, color pencils and pastel.

Participants will spend part of each class looking at examples of various artistsʼ methods of creating images based on the observation of the natural world.

When the weather is fine participants can work outdoors on the beautiful grounds of the Museum.

In case of rain there will be still life objects provided by the instructor or students can bring their own.

Everyone will be encouraged to find their own individual mode of expression, from realism to abstraction.

Ample one-on-one attention will be provided as well as group critiques in a supportive atmosphere.

Beginners and all levels welcome.
