BREWSTER – An upcoming educational lecture at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster will have a certain buzz, and will be all about pollination.

There are more than 200,000 different species of animals in the world that act as pollinators. Everyone knows about honey bees, however, honey bees are not native to Cape Cod.

On Sunday May 1 at 1 p.m., the museum will welcome Gail Howe Trenholm to shed a little light on our local pollinators. Trenholm is a master naturalist and founder and president of Nature Visits Inc., an environmental education organization located in Toronto, Ontario.

Trenholm will provide an educational framework and simple overview of the various characteristics of our local pollinators, which of course include our native bees, but also include wasps, beetles, butterflies, moths, and even flies.

Admission for the lecture is $10, and the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is located at 869 Main St. in Brewster.
