PROVINCETOWN – The Cape Cod Museum trail is gearing up for the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims landing in America.
The museum would like to remind the public that although Plymouth might come to mind when you think of the pilgrims, the mayflower actually first landed in Provincetown.
Today there is a 55 mile trail across the outer and lower cape that takes visitors on a similar journey as the first settlers. The trail is meant to educate about the experiences the settlers had on Cape Cod.
Stops On the trail include The Pilgrim monument and Provincetown Museum, First encounter beach, the Chatham Lighthouse, Atwood Home and Museum, Nickerson Family Homestead and Mashpee Wampanoag Museum.
The Pilgrim Landing Trail is supported by a grant from CARE for the Cape And Islands.
