Cape Cod National Seashore Beaches Free Sunday for Founders Day

WELLFLEET – In celebration of the National Park Service’s 103rd birthday visitors will be able to enjoy all Cape Cod National Seashore Beaches for free on Sunday.

On this day in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed what is now called the Organic Act establishing the National Park Service.

Founders Day recognizes the superior conservation and preservation efforts of the National Parks System.

As part of the Department of Interior, the National Park Service protects 400 areas in each of the 50 states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia totaling 84 million acres.

The six Cape Cod National Seashore beaches are Nauset Light Beach, Marconi Beach, Coast Guard Beach, Head of the Meadow Beach, Race Point Beach and Herring Cove Beach.
