Cape Cod National Seashore Presents Historic Eastham Event on June 21

Eastham-Windmill smallerEASTHAM – On June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham, join Jim Owens for a slideshow presentation of historic Eastham.

The program will include Jim’s large collection of photos as Eastham has grown throughout the years, including results of winter storms.

As a native of Eastham, Jim attended the old elementary school in second and third grade.

He taught art at Nauset High School for 26 years and is a past president of the Eastham Historical Society, collecting old photos and stories of the town for years.

The upcoming program is part of the annual “Tuesday Evening Series” at the Salt Pond Visitor Center.

Held weekly at 7 p.m., the programs focus on the diverse natural and cultural resources of the Outer Cape and are suitable for all ages.

Programs are free and the series is sponsored by Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore.

The Salt Pond Visitor Center is located at the intersection of Route 6 and Nauset Road in Eastham and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with staff to assist with activity planning.

Visit the museum, view a park film, enjoy panoramic views of Salt Pond and Nauset Marsh and shop in the gift and bookstore.
