Cape Cod National Seashore Releases New ‘Welcome’ Movie

EASTHAM –  The Cape Cod National Seashore has announced the completion of its first new orientation movie since the 1980’s.

“Standing Bold—Cape Cod National Seashore” is a 15- minute film that will play throughout the day in the two seashore visitor centers beginning in early June.

“We embarked on this great project with a film company under contract, Northern Light productions out of Boston, and we have created a movie that really touches on many really powerful and compelling aspects of the National Sea Shore,” said Sue Moynihan, Chief of Interpretation and Cultural Resource Management for the Seashore.

Moynihan adds that “what this movie does is it showcases that there is a lot to this place. There’s a lot of depth, there is a lot of breadth, and we have many different resources both natural and cultural, and we’ve got places that just have stunning beauty.”

The Seashore will host a premiere of the new film at 6:30 pm on June 1st at Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham.

Seating is limited to 4 people per party, and free tickets are available by reservation beginning May 26 by calling the visitor center at (508) 255-3421, ext. 0.
