YARMOUTH – The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority dedicated a new bus shelter in the town of Yarmouth to long time transit authority board member Robert Lawton.

Lawton served as town manager in Yarmouth for 32 years and as a transit authority board member since 1978.

“Bob has been an extraordinary leader on Cape Cod for so long,” stated transit authority Administrator Thomas Cahir.

“His positive contributions to the town of Yarmouth and support of many important regional transportation initiatives will be greatly appreciated for many years,” Cahir said.

The bus shelter is one of 30 that the transit authority has placed across the region over the last couple of years.

They are sited in areas along all fixed routes on Cape Cod.
