Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative Plans Annual Festival

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative is holding their 8th annual Cape Cod Wildlife Festival next month to highlight local groups working to make the environment better for wildlife on the Cape.

The event is planned for September 9th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mass Audubon’s Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary off Bone Hill Road in Barnstable.

Organizers say one of the main goals of the festival will be to raise awareness about the problems presented by plastics in the environment.

Some of the activities planned for this year include live animal education presentations, book signings with local environmental authors, live music performances, and food and ice cream.

“Last year, we broke our previous attendance record at the Cape Cod Wildlife Festival. It’s such a great time for everyone. We love the chance to engage with the Cape Cod community about environmental issues, especially in this fun and festive way,” said Heather Rockwell, the Facilitator for the Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative.

The Cape Cod Wildlife Collaborative is a partnership between 11 local non-profits that are committed to protecting local wildlife through rescue, rehabilitation, research, conversation efforts, advocacy, and education.

The festival is made possible by a grant from the Cape Cod Five Foundation.
