Cape Cod YMCA Seeks Memorabilia for 50th Anniversary Exhibit

WEST BARNSTABLE – As the Cape Cod YMCA celebrates 50 years, leaders are asking members and the public for any pieces of memorabilia to be used in a “museum hall” style exhibit.

Chief Financial Development Officer for Cape Cod YMCA P.J. Richardson said they will accept items like t-shirts, hats, pins and especially photographs.

“These objects really represent different time periods in our evolution,” Richardson said. “Each time period called on the Y for different services and the Y is a nimble enough organization to respond to the needs identified at that time.”

The “historical hall” will be filled with these items and will show a comprehensive history of the organization, he said.

“Our tagline will be ‘honor our past, celebrate our impact and invest in our future,’” Richardson said.

Items can be brought to the Y on Route 132 and Richardson can be emailed at [email protected].

All items will be returned after the event in June.
