WEST BARNSTABLE – The Cape Conservatory is hosting a first-of-its-kind concert on Sunday to commemorate its 60th anniversary.

The concert, which will be held at 6 p.m. at the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College, will showcase a number of the Conservatory’s flagship ensembles, including the Cape Youth Orchestra and the Cape Cod Children’s Chorus.

The anniversary concert will also debut a specially-commissioned piece that will be performed by a collage of Conservatory ensembles.

“It’s just so inspiring to see how the organization has grown and what we’ve done in the community over the years and to really understand the real need for us to be here and to just share this gift of music and art with the community, it’s truly inspiring,” said Conservatory Executive Director Stephanie Weaver.

Weaver adds that there are a number of moments she is looking forward to in the concert.

“The excitement and just the pure power and joy that the audience will experience, we’re just going to entertain everybody,” said Weaver.

Tickets for the event are $25 and are available at capeconservatory.org.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Conservatory’s education and scholarship fund, which allowed the Conservatory to award over $20,000 in need-based scholarships to students of all ages.

Those unable to attend the concert but would like to support the Conservatory can make a donation through the Conservatory’s $60/60th Anniversary initiative.
