WEST BARNSTABLE – Local violinists, ranging from intermediate to advanced, may have the opportunity to open for the Cape Symphony alongside Grammy-winning composer and violinist Mark O’Connor.

Selected students will play O’Connor’s composition, “Olympic Reel” alongside him at the September 10 and 11 Cape Symphony shows.

Students will be required to attend at least one rehearsal, a dress rehearsal on September 9th, and both concerts.

The piece must be played from memory by the dress rehearsal.

To apply, submit a video playing “Olympic Reel” in full to Ashley Owen-Cubellis, [email protected].

Those selected will be notified by mid-August.
