HYANNIS – The Cape and Islands Democratic Party held a final rally for the candidates before Election Day on Sunday night.

With only hours left before the polls close, the candidates are still meeting with their constituents.

2nd Barnstable State Representative candidate Aaron Kanzer said he’s been hitting the pavement and knocking on doors, but he’s looking for to Election Day.

“We’re feeling very optimistic, we’re getting great responses from the community and I think we have a great shot of winning on Tuesday,” said Kanzer.

Provincetown State Representative Sarah Peake attended the rally to support the candidates and said that she sees how hard the candidates are working.

“My feeling is that if hard work and shoe leather pays off, I think that we’re going to do fine as a ticket come Tuesday,” said Peake.

Cape and Islands State Senate candidate Julian Cyr said that he started his campaign 11 months ago and that he’s proud of the work that he and his team have done.

“I’m really proud of the race we’ve ran, I feel really good, we didn’t leave a single thing on the table, we have thousands of voters that we have identified as supporters and our job on Election Day is to turn them out,” said Cyr.

Mary Pat Flynn is running for re-election for Barnstable County Commission and said she is happy to see her party coming together and see the community getting out to vote.

“I think people are coming together, it always happens the last day or two, that all of a sudden people realize they have to vote in a day or two and they’re just going to make their decision,” said Flynn.

U.S. Congressman Bill Keating, Barnstable County Sheriff candidate Randy Azzato, Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf, County Commission candidate Mark Forest, and Secretary of State Bill Galvin also attended the rally.
