HYANNIS – Three members of the Cape Downwinders are appealing a court order that bans them from the State House.

On September 9, Mary Conathan, Doug Long and Diane Turco were arrested for participating in a sit-in in the Governor’s offices.

The group refused to leave the office until Governor Charlie Baker addressed concerns about the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth and were charged with trespassing.

The station is set to close by June 2019.

The three arrested will have a hearing on Wednesday at the Suffolk County Courthouse in Boston.

A rally will also be held on Wednesday at noon at the Beacon Street entrance to the State House with calls for Governor Baker to take a stand for public safety and demand that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission close the plant.

The group also plans to deliver a letter to the Governor at the event.
