MASHPEE – Upper Cape residents looking to save energy and money are welcome to attend a Cape Light Compact meeting Thursday evening in Mashpee.
Officials will discuss future energy efficiency plans and funds available for consumers at the Mashpee Public Library at 7 p.m.
The Cape Light Compact is an energy services organization operated by 21 towns and two counties on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
“We have the presentation for folks with some proposed changes and additions to the program,” Cape Light Compact spokesperson Lindsay Henderson said. “And we really want to get feedback and input from the public as to what sort of programs they are looking for.”
The meeting will also provide information about new options and rebates for heating and cooling developed by the Compact in collaboration with the Massachusetts Division on Energy Resources and others.
“These programs are the communities programs,” said Henderson. “We are really just looking for their input as to whether what we are doing works and what we have proposed sounds good to them.”
There were 176 businesses and 4,701 homes in Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich that participated last year in the Compact’s energy efficiency programs.
The Compact is preparing a three-year plan for its energy efficiency programs to run from 2016 through 2018.
