Cape Light Compact Offering $30 for Inefficient Dehumidifiers

BARNSTABLE – The Cape Light Compact is giving Cape residents the opportunity to dump their old, inefficient dehumidifiers and upgrade to a new, Energy Star certified model.

The event follows a similar endeavor conducted by the compact last spring in which more than 300 inefficient, but functioning dehumidifiers where turned in in return for a 30 dollar rebate of a new model.

Energy Star certified dehumidifiers use as much as 25 percent less power than other models which can add up to considerable savings over the life of the machine.

Cape residents wishing to take part in the 30 dollar rebate program are invited to turn in their old dehumidifier at one of two upcoming exchange events.

The first will take place on Saturday, September 23rd from 10 am through 2 pm at the Living Local Harvest Festival in West Tisbury. The second will be held on Friday October 6th from 9 am to 1 pm at Mid-Cape Home Centers in South Dennis.
