DENNIS – An effort to improve relations between law enforcement and the communities they serve is once again getting underway and Cape Cod police departments are taking part.
National night out is a program that strives to get the public to know their police on a more personal level in order to create dialogue between the departments and the public.
Community policing officer Ryan Carr, with the town of Dennis, says he enjoys the annual event.
“Generally we get together, eat some hot dogs and hamburgers, show off our equipment and let people see who we are. Usually, it’s alot of fun.”
Events kick off tonight, check with your town’s department for details.
