Cape Residents Make GOP Primary Ballot for AG

BOURNE – The eventual Republican nominee for Massachusetts Attorney General will be from Cape Cod.

Bourne resident Jay McMahon garnered 55 percent of the vote at the state Republican Convention in Worcester last weekend. Sandwich attorney Dan Shores also qualified for the ballot, meaning the two will face off in the state primary in September.

The two are trying to unseat incumbent Democrat Maura Healey.

The last Republican to serve as Attorney General in Massachusetts was Elliot Richardson, who held the post from 1967-1969.
