YARMOUTH – A local restauranteur and businessman was honored by the Cape Cod and Island Council of the Boys Scouts of America on Thursday.
The Cape Scouts held their 21st annual Community Breakfast at the Yarmouth House Restaurant and recognized Ted Zambelis.
Zambelis was honored for his support of a number of charitable causes and organizations and his participation in several organizations including the Yarmouth Restaurant Association and the Kiwanis Club.
“He’s incredibly generous and supportive of just about anything in the community,” said Scout Executive Mike Riley. “He’s always one of the first ones out there whenever there’s any sort of crisis or a problem as well as just the ongoing philanthropic activities, he’s always there supporting those too.”
Zambelis is an entrepreneur with interests in Yarmouth House, DiParma Italian Table and Red Face Jack’s.
He also has interests in two car dealerships and the Nantucket Natural Blends beverage company.
“I have been a part of this community for 25 years and it’s a tremendous honor,” said Zambelis. “I’m very grateful to have received this honor.”
