HYANNIS – The Cape Symphony & Conservatory is calling all Cape Cod disco lovers for a weekend of fun in October.
The Cape Symphony will be hosting Symphony at the Disco: A Night at Studio 54 in October.
The concert features the 10-piece Boogie Wonder Band and a large 60-piece orchestra that’s expected to bring disco to a whole new level of authenticity and sonic brilliance.
“This is much more than a concert, it’s a party!” said Symphony Conductor Jung Ho Pak.
“We’re thrilled to include the Boogie Wonder Band, which features fantastic singers and a funky band recreating all of our ‘70s favorites. Many of that era’s top hits featured the sound of the symphony beautifully, so this is a rare and perfect pairing. There’s no better way to hear this music!”
Labeled “the most celebrated disco band of our generation,” the Boogie Wonder Band performs at hundreds of private events throughout North America each year. From parties at casinos, festivals, and orchestras to parties for celebrities like Celine Dion, a night with the Boogie Wonder is sure to impress.
On Saturday, October 13, Cape Symphony and The West End, a well-known restaurant in Hyannis, are partnering to offer a 20-percent discount on dinner at the restaurant to Symphony at the Disco ticketholders.
The West End is also hosting a “Studio 54” dance party with DJ Ian Lee from 9:00 p.m. until closing time with Jung Ho Pak and other disco lovers.
The event is on Saturday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 14 at 3:00 p.m. at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, located at 744 West Main Street in Hyannis.
